
Working House Fire
On Saturday, February 14th 2026 at 11:37 hrs, the Seaford Fire Department was alerted for a reported house fire at 3843 Ray Street. 2nd Assistant Chief Lochner (6802) arrived first and advised he had a smoke condition evident from the eaves of the second floor. Chief Lochner also advised that a bed bound resident was still within the home. A Signal 10 (working fire) was promptly transmitted, bringing in additional resources. Fire was discovered to be burning in between the first and second floor, extending vertically through multiple walls to the second floor.
2 hand lines were stretched from Engine 682, led by Captain Bongiovi to extinguish the fire. Ladder 683, led by Ex Chief Cottone split their crew in order to search and open up multiple void spaces within the home. One disabled resident was removed from the first floor uninjured.
Chief of Department Beehler (6800), 1st Assistant Chief Diehl (6801), 681, 684, 685, 6899 responded as well. Mutual aide assistance to the scene was provided by Wantagh E693, TL6911, Massapequa TL 632, North Massapequa TL 661(FAST), and Bellmore TL 606. Massapequa E6311, Wantagh A6916 and Merrick L6412 stood by at Seaford Fire Headquarters in case of additional Alarms. All operations were under the command of Chief of Department Brian Beehler.
