On Wednesday, May 4th, Ex-Chief George V. Kern (pictured 2nd from the right) was sworn in as the new Chairman of the 6th Battalion District.  In his new role, Ex-Chief Kern will now represent the members of the 6th Battalion on the Nassau County Fire Commission.  This is only the 2nd time that a member of the Seaford Fire Department has been elected as Chairman of the Battalion.  The 1st was Ex-Chief John Annitto nearly 30 years ago.  The members of the Seaford Fire Department congratulate Ex-Chief Kern on this outstanding accomplishment and wish him luck in his term as Chairman for the next two years.

The 6th Battalion is made up of the Bellmore, East Meadow, Levittown, Massapequa, Merrick, North Bellmore, North Massapequa, North Merrick, Seaford and Wantagh Fire Departments.
