MVA Rollover

On Monday March 28th at 1256 hours, the Seaford Fire Department was alerted for a MVA rollover with entrapment on the southbound Rt. 135 near Sunrise Hwy.  Heavy Rescue 687 under the command of Lt. Scott Diehl responded along with ambulance 685 under the command of Ex-Chief/Lt. Raymond Kuhner.  Upon arrival, units found a refrigerated box truck that had rolled over on the ramp to the eastbound Sunrise Hwy.  The driver had somehow survived the accident with minor injuries and was transported to NUMC via 685 for evaluation.  The crew from 687 secured a minor leak from one of the saddle fuel tanks and a fluid spill .  NCPD Highway and the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Hazardous Materials team were also on scene.
