
Mutual Aid to South Farmingdale
On Tuesday, February 1st, at 1612 Hrs, the Seaford Fire Department was requested so send Ladder 683 to standby at South Farmingdale Fire Departments headquarters while they battled a working house fire off Carmans Rd. 2nd Assistant Chief Cottone (6802) and Seaford Ladder 683 under the command of Ex-Chief Lochner responded within 3 minutes of the time of alarm. While Seaford units were responding, South Farmingdale command transmitted a 2nd alarm. At that point, Nassau County Fire Com requested that the Seaford units respond directly to the scene. Upon arrival Chief Cottone and the crew from Ladder 683 were assigned the task of opening up and looking for extension on the ground floor and the 1st floor of the heavily damaged private dwelling. The crew also performed the secondary search of this area. The members returned to quarters at approximately 1800 Hrs.
