
Busy 5 Days For Our Members
The past five days have seen the Seaford Fire Department requested multiple times to neighboring fire departments for working fires. On Friday, November 12th at 0332 Hrs, the SFD responded mutual aid with Engine 681 to the Wantagh FD for a working house fire. The crew assisted with extinguishing the fire and helping with overhaul.
On Monday, November 15th at 1444 Hrs. Ladder 683 was requested to standby at the South Farmingdale FD as they fought a working house fire just north of Hempstead Tpke. As the crew responded, they were redirected to the scene. The crew worked as the 3rd due ladder. The members assisted in overhaul and secured the homes utilities.
On Tuesday, November 16th at 1952 Hrs. Ladder 683 was requested to standby at the Farmingdale FD as they fought a large fire in an abandoned warehouse. The crew was later requested to respond to the scene and act as the FAST (Firefighter Assist Search Team) truck. The crew was released from the scene and returned to quarters around 2130 Hrs. Not long after returning to service, at 2227 Hrs., Ladder 683 was requested as an extra truck company to the scene of a working house fire in Massapequa where members assisted in search and overhaul.
In addition to these calls, our members have responded to many EMS calls and other emergencies during this same time period.
Our members are proud to assist our neighboring fire departments whenever we are requested.
